AUTISM ASSESSMENTS Putney
Gold Standard Autism assessments in Putney
for children, adolescents, and adults. Our evidence-based ASC assessments follow NICE guidelines and provide accurate, reliable diagnoses recognised across the UK.
Understanding autism changes things. It changes how a person sees their own history, how they advocate for themselves, and how the people around them offer support. But that understanding is only as valuable as the assessment that underpins it. A diagnosis reached through a thorough, evidence-based process is one that holds up, one that opens doors to the right support rather than raising further questions down the line.
Why Choose Our Autism Assessments?
At Sage Psychology, our autism assessments are delivered by clinicians with specialist expertise in ASC across children, adolescents, and adults. Our approach is structured, multi-disciplinary, and fully aligned with NICE guidelines. We take the time each assessment genuinely requires, and we focus on the individual in front of us rather than fitting them to a standard template.
What Makes a High-Quality Autism Assessment
Our ASC assessments include all of the following components recommended by NICE:
Comprehensive developmental history
We look at early developmental milestones, social communication patterns, and behavioural history, explored carefully in line with recognised diagnostic criteria.
In-depth exploration of concerns
Structured observational and interactive elements of the assessment draw on validated diagnostic tools to ensure findings are grounded in robust clinical evidence.
Direct assessment of communication and interaction
No diagnosis should rest on the judgement of a single clinician. An independent review of findings before conclusions are confirmed is a non-negotiable marker of quality.
Medical and family background review
Physical health history is considered as part of the overall picture, with GP referral arranged where clinically appropriate.
Differential diagnoses consideration
We consider carefully whether autism most accurately explains an individual's experiences, or whether other explanations should be explored.
Screening for co-occurring conditions
Anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, and sensory processing differences are screened for throughout, as these commonly present alongside autism.
Strengths-based diagnostic reporting
Our reports go beyond difficulties to identify individual strengths, and provide tailored recommendations.
Detailed feedback session
Findings are explained clearly and in full, with dedicated time for questions and collaborative discussion about what comes next.
We are proud to say
We meet all of the above criteria
Our autism assessments are designed to provide clarity, validation, and practical guidance for individuals and families.

If you are unsure,
You can book a pre-screening appointment
We offer a one-hour pre-assessment consultation to explore your overall mental health and determine whether a full autism assessment is appropriate for you. If we feel an autism assessment is not the most suitable next step, we will recommend an alternative—such as a different type of assessment or a tailored therapy approach.
This initial consultation costs £300, which is deductible from the full assessment fee should you choose to continue with a comprehensive autism assessment through our clinic. If you do not proceed beyond the pre-assessment, we will provide a report with recommendations.
