Tension and Trauma RElease exercises
Group Classes in Epsom
Because sometimes thinking is not enough to regulate the nervous system…
It uses a short sequence of gentle exercises to safely activate the body’s natural tremoring reflex, which humans (and animals) instinctively use to discharge residual stress following demanding or threatening experiences. Rather than revisiting memories or analysing experiences,
TRE works from the bottom up: the body releases what it no longer needs, and the mind follows. Over time, this process can support greater regulation of the nervous system, increased resilience, and a deeper sense of ease, presence, and embodiment. In essence, TRE helps the body complete unfinished stress responses so it can return to balance—naturally, gradually, and at its own pace.
What is TRE?
(Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a simple, body-based practice designed to help the nervous system release deep muscular tension and stress.
