AUTISMASSESSMENTS Mitcham
We offer Gold-Standard Autism assessments in Mitcham
for children, adolescents, and adults. Our evidence-based ASC assessments follow NICE guidelines and provide accurate, reliable diagnoses recognised across the UK.
For many individuals and families, an autism diagnosis brings a profound sense of relief. It reframes years of unexplained difference and opens the door to support that is properly matched to a person's needs. Whether you are seeking an assessment for a child, a teenager, or yourself, the process needs to be thorough, evidence-based, and delivered by clinicians who understand the full complexity of autism across the lifespan.

At Sage Psychology, our autism assessments are carried out by experienced clinicians using a structured, multi-disciplinary approach that meets national clinical standards. We take time to understand each individual properly, recognising both the challenges they face and the strengths they bring.
What Makes a High-Quality Autism Assessment?
Our ASC assessments include all of the following components recommended by NICE:
Comprehensive developmental history
We take a detailed look at early developmental milestones, social communication patterns, and behavioural traits, explored in line with recognised diagnostic criteria.
In-depth exploration of concerns
Observational and interactive elements of the assessment focus on autistic traits using validated diagnostic tools.
Direct assessment of communication & interaction
Diagnostic findings are reviewed by more than one clinician to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Medical and family background review
Physical health history is considered, with GP referral arranged where appropriate.
differential diagnoses consideration
We assess whether autism most accurately explains an individual's experiences, or whether alternative explanations warrant further exploration.
Screening for co-occurring conditions
Including ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and sensory processing differences.
Strengths-based diagnostic reporting
Our reports highlight strengths alongside challenges and offer tailored, practical recommendations.
Detailed feedback session
Findings are explained clearly, with time for questions and collaborative planning around next steps.

If you are unsure,
You can book a pre-screening appointment
We offer a one-hour pre-assessment consultation to explore your overall mental health and determine whether a full autism assessment is appropriate for you. If we feel an autism assessment is not the most suitable next step, we will recommend an alternative—such as a different type of assessment or a tailored therapy approach.
